In the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, Marcia C. Smith reports "History lends the Lakers, who are down 3-2 in the best-of-7 NBA Finals, the word never. Only eight teams in NBA history have rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win a seven-game playoff series, but no team has ever done it to win an NBA championship.
