Why Is NBC Tape Delaying The Beijing Olympics To The West Coast??
I realize that China is on the other side of the planet, and this inevitably causes scheduling conflicts with the U.S.A. However, the morning events in China happen to line up perfectly to air during prime time hours in the United States. The east coast was able to watch Michael Phelps LIVE as he went for his first medal, but west coast viewers have to wait three hours after that. Do you ... [link]

Stupid Tape Delay

... to hold or share in a world record. But I have to agree with Chuck from Sportaphile . Aside from doing something apeshit crazy like going outside and ignoring the internet for several hours at a time (thus risking breaking out in withdrawal-like shakes and vomiting), it is nearly impossible to avoid news on Beijing. As enjoyable as that race was to watch, I already knew the results, which pretty much nullified most of the experience.

NBC Shows Its Run By Idiots Tape Delay For West Coast Viewers
In a baffling decision NBC has decided to show premier events such the men's 400m and tomorrow's much anticipated USA v China game on tape delay. I am not making that up. 2008 Beijing Olympics Day 1 Live Thread
All right everyone. Because NBC was actually able to force China to have certain events at times that would allow them to be live, we're going to have an Olympic live thread. From what I understand, Michael Phelps' 400 IM swim tonight will be shown live for viewers in the central and eastern time zones. Those of us out here on the west coast, or in the crazy mountain time zone, I guess avoid ...

NBC sticks to its guns, will air Phelps on tape.
NBC has strongly denied a rumor that it would televise swimmer Michael Phelps potential record-setting 8th gold medal of the Olympics live on the West Coast. NBC Prepares To Screw West Coast Viewers The Rest Of The Olympics
I rarely feel bad for West Coasters (given that you get Football so early in your day), but I finally have some sympathy with the coverage that NBC is giving you during these Olympics. Those to the West have been subject to events being listed as "Live" that are certainly not going on at that time and have basically been relegated to watching one of the best Olympic performances on a time ...

Viewers on the West Coast may get to see a potential record-setting performance live on Saturday night. The final decision "may be made late Thursday night." Currently, NBC airs coverage of the Olympics on
