You think Kobe was good in '06? You thought he was even better in '07? What about this summer for the USA, dropping 20 pounds and being the undisputed leader? Well, accoring to Todd Spehr at The Hoops Journalist, basketball fans haven't seen the best of Bryant yet.

Team USA looked sluggish at times but still managed to blow out Mexico 127-100 in the first game of the quarterfinals round of the FIBA Americas tournament. Carmelo Anthony had a game-high 28 points. Kobe Bryant added 21 points and LeBron James and Dwight Howard each scored 19 points, shooting 6-7 and 9-10 from the field respectively.

The Americans had another successful game, topping Mexico 127-100, but were unable to create a mindblowing lead due to the Mexicans’ tenacity and confidence. Once again, the game was never in doubt, but it still said a lot about Team USA’s players and tendencies. Thoughts on the Mexicans' confidence, Kobe's frustration, Chauncey starting over Kidd, and Walton's favorite smoking locations.
