Uh oh Boston, you’ve got some winning on the road to do! It figures that the night Ray Allen decides to show up for the Celtics that they would fall to Detroit 103-97. Allen, who has been pretty awful in these playoffs, shot 9-16 from the field and scored 25 points in the Celtics loss. It’s not as if the big three of Garnett, Pierce and Allen didn’t play well last night, they would combine ...Perkins, Allen Power Celtics Past Pistons

It was great to see Ray Allen get his shot back tonight and help the team pick up the huge Game 5 win. The Pistons pushed them as far as possible to the edge tonight (and could still push further on Fri) and the Celtics battled and persevered for the win, that says a lot about the character of the players on the team. Back to Ray Allen , ever since the Atlanta series, he has been in a major ...Celtics Survive a Scare, Take 3-2 Series Lead over Detroit

Ray Allen (photo. Jordan Brand) We’re not gonna go overboard like Stu Scott and say it was one of the greatest games you’ll ever see, but Celtics/Pistons Game 5 was definitely the best-played game of this series and the kind of game we expected from these two teams when it became clear months ago they were [...]Winning Ugly Is Still Winning

That was the shakiest end to a winning basketball game I’ve ever seen. The Celtics held on by the skin of their teeth. Perkins, Garnett, Ray Allen, and at times Rondo carried the team through 3 quarters. But in the fourth, nobody stepped up until Ray Allen hit that long jumper. This game will do nothing to help Garnett’s reputation of not stepping up in the clutch. The Pistons ...Celtics 106, Pistons 102: Instant Analysis

Ray Allen (photo. Jordan Brand) Why the Celtics won: Ball movement. This is what C’s fans envisioned when their team picked up Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett to play alongside Paul Pierce. Ray Allen’s been catching hell from the media as of late for his low field-goal percentage in these playoffs. So what’s up with Ray? How did a career 40% three-point shooter just all of a sudden start shooting 30% percent from that range? Well, I think it has to do with Ray becoming the third wheel, when he’s been a first option almost his entire career. The misconception about Ray is ...It's never too early to talk about breaking up the band ...

PUT AN APB OUT ON RAY ALLEN’S JUMPER Ray Allen has always been a shooter. He was supposed to be the weak side option when Pierce or Garnett was doubled. Without that jumper, ”…you're nothing to me…” or the Celtics now. Even in Allen’s recent 25 point game, he made only three shots outside of 15 feet.
