I've thought about whether they should go after Abreu. Left-handed, patient, consistent offensive player, it all makes sense. Then I think about his declining defense and his fear of the outfield wall - how can you sign a rightfielder who will probably be too afraid to even tread on the warning track? If padded walls freak him out, how will he deal with brick, fer cryin out loud?
As for Fukudome in CF, you can't go for that unless you are sure that he can make the adjustment and hit major league pitching. Alternatively I think the Cubs should talk to the Sox about Coco.
