Thompson, citing a racially hostile environment and circumstances surrounding possible NCAA violations, resigned on July 12 after one season at the helm. He sent his resignation via e-mail. The Ball State Daily News reported Thompson wanted out as early as May. We also know Thompson hasn't talked to the media... until now, it seems.
