Patriots NT Vince Wilfork has been fined $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct in the team's season finale against the Giants. The fine was specifically levied because after the play was over, Wilfork was deemed to have poked his finger in the opponents facemask near his eye. [link]

Vince Wilfork got spanked with a $15,000 fine for putting his fingers inside Brandon Jacobs’ helmet. Although I don’t condone the “Three Stooges” eye poke, to me it didn’t look like he was going for an eyeball. To me it seemed like an, “eff you, look what I’ll do to you,” taunt. If he really wanted to poke an eye, it was obvious he had a clear shot. Pudgy nose tackle fingers and all, Wilfork could’ve easily poked Jacobs’ eye if he wanted to. But what the hell do I know, I’m just a stupid ...

New England Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for what the league considered unsportsmanlike conduct during last Saturday night's regular-season finale against the New York Giants. The fine is the third this season against the Pro Bowl defender.
