Whoa. Did anyone else just see Steve Flesch’s ball plummet into Rae’s Creek? I swear it looked like it hit a branch–a non-existent branch–that knocked it down. The wind appeared to have literally swatted that ball down, changing its direction in a split-second.Posted 4/13/2008 on Waggle Room
4:04 ET - Flesch wound! Steve hit driver into the trees on No. 7. Tried to cut a ball around at tree but hit the tree instead. Ricocheted across the fairway into more trees. Third stroke short and into a bunker. Blasted out. Made a downhiller for bogey. Snedeker bogies No. 6. Immelman now with a 3-stroke lead, 11-under to 8-under. 3:40 ET - Tiger Woods is through six and yet to do ...Posted 4/13/2008 on Kiel Christianson
One of my brothers-in-law has an amusing mind-trick that he uses when things are going badly on the course. He imagines that guys like us–average golfers–are the best players in the world. In other words, the shots we hit are the best that can be executed. Just imagine if that were the case. If Steve Flesch’s delicate flip over the bunker to a couple of feet from the pin ...Posted 4/13/2008 on Busted Coverage: Booze, Ladies And Football
Courtney Peldon celebrates her 27th today Can Tiger pull off the huge comeback? Of course he can, if the guys ahead of him decide they really don’t want to win. CBS will be all over this developing drama. We say he gets within two strokes. Steve Flesch could be your big winner today. He has been around this course before.Sitting just 3 back, Flesch could benefit from not ...Posted 4/12/2008 on Waggle Room

Trevor Immelman currently leads at 8 under par, followed closely by Brandt Snedeker, and then it's 3 strokes back to Steve Flesch (For Fantasy) and a guy named Mickelson. Right now Tiger is through 8 holes and is Even par. I assume that he will gain back at least 2 more strokes and end at no worse than -2, which right now would put him in a tie for 10th. An odd development after round 1: ...Posted 4/11/2008 on Dogs That Chase Cars
Some people complained that yesterday at Augusta was about as much fun as watching golfers struggle with Bethpage Black. Not a lot of exciting shots, not many "loud" roars, nothing too crazy happening. Today looks to be playing a little different with already two REALLY good shots on 13 from Craig Stadler and Steve Flesch who both kicked them in for eagle (and were playing in the same group ...Published 4/11/2008 on NYT > Golf
