Power is NOT inherently more valuable than any other type of offense.   IE: A player who creates 25 runs with speed and contact has just as much offensive value as a slugger who creates 25 runs.    However, whether due to the enhanced marketability of hulking bashers or a general misconception about the player value,  power commands a premium well above its actual value on the FA market.  This premium stands in stark contrast to players like Randy Winn who are almost criminally underrated.    I can’t stress enough that it’s a bad value to pay for power in the FA ...
