Brett Wallace, 3B, St. Louis Cardinals: Huge butt. Like Bob Hamelin type butt. But his bat is absolutely for real. Massive power potential to all fields and he should hit for average as well. On defense, he has the arm for third base. He has more range than you might expect, and I think he can be a below-average but not horrible defender at third in the short run. In Hawai'i: Caleb Gindl went 2-for-4 with two walks, two doubles, drove in two runs and scored three times, Logan Schafer went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks, and Cody Scarpetta allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five in four innings to pick up the win as the CaneFires bludgeoned Honolulu, 13-5. While any scenario with Colby starting excites me, I’m not sure what to make about this Kelly Johnson or Yunel Escobar for Ryan Ludwick talk. Johnson is about as Joe Average as you can get. I’m not saying Ludwick will be as great as he was last year, his season wasn’t all smoke and mirrors. Ankiel for either of those players makes more sense, in my opinion, but it’s hard to see Rick in any other uniform but a Cardinal uniform. That would kill a lot of man-crushes in many a St. ...

The Rox will probably demand one of the Cards relief prospects, and we know they asked for Motte in a deal for Fuentes before. While it feels like there is a lot of momentum to this story, I think this deal will fall apart.
