Daily Farm Report 11/17/08
Future Redbirds — This isn’t prospect related, but where was Mo on Jeremy Affeldt? AFL Shane Robinson hit another walk off single for his only hit in 5 AB. Brett Wallace doubled and walked. From a slow start, Wallace is now up to .310/.368/.575. Tyler Norrick pitched a perfect inning with one K. Dominican Amaury went 0-for-4. On the upside, he figured out the solution to the world’s energy problems.

Future Redbirds — AFL Shane Robinson went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. Brett Wallace went 0-for-4 but walked, was hit by a pitch and had a run scored. Tyler Greene went 1-for-5 and reached on on error. He also went down swinging three times. DR Amaury Marti went 3-for-4 with a double. During his time sitting in the dugout, he beat Viswanathan Anand in three moves in online game of chess.

Juan Miranda went 1-for-4 with a RBI. Kevin Russo went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI. In the Puerto Rican League Mayaguez lost to Caguas 4-3: Box Score - Recap Ian Kennedy made his third start of the winter for Mayaguez. Bernie says Trever Miller has been signed to be the new left-handed specialist, and 30 year old Ian Ostlund (formerly of the Tigers organization) was signed to a minor league contract and invited to spring training. Miller is an upgrade over Ron Villone, but if LaRussa mismanages him in the same horrendous fashion he did Villone then it’s not much of an upgrade.
