Dewayne Wise has spent most of his 12 previous seasons in professional baseball wearing the ''unknown'' tag. That's not necessarily a bad label for the White Sox outfielder, either. He has accepted it, even embraced it, over the years. One problem: If he keeps playing as well as he has this spring, his cover is blown.

Center field: Brian Anderson misses Tucson (4-for-22, 0 XBH), but he did throw out a runner at the plate Thursday. Jerry Owens is faring slightly better (4-for-19, five walks to two K's), but Paul Bako threw him out handily on a stolen base attempt. He's now 0-for-2, and Dewayne Wise (5-for-11) could easily put the heat on Owens if he doesn't make any progress on the basepaths. ...
