Deshawn v. Lebron [cont.]
Published 3/20/2008 by Spence at DC Pro Sports Report -- Sports news, stats and analysis from the capital of the free world
Instead of talking about the Magic last night after the big win in Orlando, Deshawn Stevenson wanted to talk about his new nemesis, Lebron James: Remember, after Stevenson called James “overrated” folllowing a game between the teams last Thursday, James responded by saying he is above such mess because that would be like his hero, Jay-Z, lowering himself to respond to the rapper, Soulja Boy. So, in one neat quote, James dissed Stevenson and Soulja Boy. Well, Stevenson is embracing the Soulja Boy role. “I hope we play Cleveland,” Stevenson said. “I’m going to get Soulja Boy courtside seats and have him ...

Gilbert injury update

Ivan Carter was among those watching Gilbert Arenas closely as he worked out before the Orlando game last night. Magic coaches were also following along. I didn’t see him favoring the left leg in any way. At one point, he drained 10 of 13 shots from four of five feet behind the three-point line. LeBron James talked trash to Gilbert Arenas before two crucial free-throws. Gilbert missed both. Damon Jones hit a deuce with four seconds left and the rest is history. Cleveland won 114-113 that night and took a very hard fought series in six games. Leaving the Verizon Center, my buddy Chris and I had only one choice: drink our troubles away in Chinatown with a boatload of scotch. Even last year when the Cavs swept the Wizards without Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler in the ...

Cavs 89, Pistons 73–Excellent overall performance by the Cavs. The defense was very solid and the matchups actually worked in the Cavs favor, which I was not sure about. By relying on Ben Wallace and Anderson Varejao to play Rasheed Wallace 1-on-1, ...
