If Favre returns, Packers have the cap room
Published 7/7/2008 at ESPN.com - NFL Nation - Blog
Posted by ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert While no one knows how the Brett Favre story will play out, one thing is certain: The Green Bay Packers have more than enough salary cap space to take him back. The Packers have a little more than $32 million in cap room, second-most in the NFL. Only the Kansas City Chiefs, with $36 million, have more. If he returns to the Packers, Favre's $12 million base salary would be added to the $800,000 in pro-rated bonus money, giving him a $12.8 million cap number. In reality, however, the Packers already count $1.6 million in "dead money" against their cap to account for Favre's ...

Brett Favre- Just Say No
Published 7/11/2008 by Rick at WaitingForNextYear
favrerodgers2.jpg Look I’m a Cleveland fan, and so as the saying goes, I don’t have a dog in this fight. (Oh, sorry Atlanta fans…) But this whole Brett Favre thing is just ridiculous. I’m watching Chris Carter make a fool out of himself on ESPN. I’m a Buckeye fan, so I have nothing but love for you Chris, but what you said about Brett Favre makes no sense. Carter said that Favre made a mistake by announcing his decision to retire too early. He said in March your body is beat up and you aren’t thinking right about whether or not you want to play again. He said Favre should have waited until after the draft to make up his mind. Yeah. Like every year since ...
