KidUterus +1Hahahahahahahaha!!! -
TwinsTerritory I really want to keep KG, but at the same time, I feel like we will miss out on so much when he signs somewhere else and we get nothing.
Anyways, I think this should quiet some of the Celtic trade rumors.
-
KidUterus It ends the Celtics rumors.-
chone I think the general consensus amongst Celtics fans is that Jefferson was too much to give up anyway. Honestly, we all went gaga for Iverson last summer and nothing came of that either. It's Yi time.

SG Yeah but now the Suns rumors start again. -
TwinsTerritory And Chicago is in the mix according to reports. -
Fear the Beard KG, the beard is waiting.-
Atma Brother #1 Hmmm, think KG could sport a fly beard? Very interesting concept.

-
RedsArmy The scary part is this deal was done... until KG spoke up.
Maybe Boston should thank him... or maybe Danny Ainge should.
-
BullsBlogger they'll have plenty of time to talk next May when the Celtics are out of the playoffs yet again. :-p

SG Early on in the season, Garnett was sporting this weird beard. It actually looked like it was just overgrown sideburns or something. In his blog, Flea referred to it as an "amish beard" or something along those lines.

No Garnett
Published 6/21/2007 by Jim
ESPN.com is reporting that Kevin Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, has made it known that the Big Ticket has no interest in joining Paul Pierce in Boston. I was torn on the deal anyways and appreciate the fact that Garnett pulled no punches about how he would approach such a move. Two words: opt out. So that happened. Next!

No Marion Either
Published 6/22/2007 at CelticsBlog
I must have missed this in the fine print of the Garnett ESPN article : It ' s considered unlikely that a Suns package built around Shawn Marion and that draft pick would be enough to pry Garnett away. Complicating matters further, Marion also has the right to become a free agent after the 2007-08 season and has also let it be known that he doesn ' t want to play in Minnesota or Boston, sources say. That stance quickly killed the possibility of a three-way deal involving Minnesota, Phoenix and Boston.
Three Different Sports, Three Big Trade Rumors.

... OK, let’s start with the man who should have been demand a trade years ago due to Kevin McHale’s mismanagement. Trade rumors surrounding Kevin Garnett have been all over the place since last season (Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, Suns, etc.), and a report now has him speaking out on his preference to head to Phoenix — flatly refusing to go anywhere near a trade to Boston, which is probably driving Bill Simmons to drink early already. The trade was already agreed to by McHale and Boston GM Danny Ainge until KG said no. Now, the Wolves would want Amare Stoudemire in any trade for KG (Shawn Marion, with a year left on the contract, doesn’t want to go to Boston or Minnesota) — and I can’t stress how that trade-off would not work. The trade only works to make the Suns more of a contender by adding KG to Amare. Either the Suns will have to find a way to keep Amare out of a trade, or I suspect KG w ...

KG Says No To Celtics
Published 6/25/2007 by Todd Spehr at ------
In a demand usually reserved for the Clippers or Raptors, Kevin Garnett nixing a potential deal that would have landed him in Boston confirmed something that was once unthinkable: No superstar wants to play for the Boston Celtics. Anymore, I should say. This much we know: Garnett is as good as gone. When deals are on the table and when you go as far as Boston and Minnesota did (by having both parties agree to a trade in principle, only to have KG say no) then it becomes the point of no return. So, the end result is that KG, the greatest player in Timberwolves franchise history by an obscene margin, is going to be playing elsewhere next season. The only question now remains whether it will be he or Kobe moving first? I tell you what, with AI going to Denver last season and Shaq heading to Miami in 04, has there ever been a three-year superstar-trading whirlwind like this? And at least KG is quietly going about his busines ...
Kill the Headlights and Put It in Neutral

... Yet KG seemed to doom Boston’s hopes of landing him during the week of the draft, and he still ended up in green. Things clearly changed when Ainge acquired Ray Allen, but the Celtics still had to convince Garnett that he would enjoy being a Celtic. Where was that kind of perseverance from the Suns? Amare and Shawn Marion are tradeable pieces in spite of their big contracts, and it was Steve Kerr’s job to get creative and swing a deal. I realize that Sarver restricts Kerr’s ability to take on contracts, but he must have signed off on KG at some point if Kerr tried to get him in late June. I love Amare to death, but Garnett would have come as close to guaranteeing them a championship in the next two years as any trade could have. You have to make that leap. ...
Lakers vs. Celtics? How Did We Get *Here*?
Published 2/4/2008 by M. Haubs at The Painted Area
My goodness. How did this happen? Just think about where we were on June 23: - The Celtics were heading into the draft with the no. 5 pick after a disastrous Draft Lottery, coming off a 24-58 season, second-worst in the league. - Kevin Garnett's agent had just been quoted as saying, " The Boston trade isn't happening . If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing." - Meanwhile, the bootleg video clip showing ...
