Round 1, that is. As a former newspaperman, I can say that the Sports departments at newspapers in the central and eastern time zones are hating primetime U.S. Open golf. But then, as a former newspaperman, who cares! It's on TV in primetime! The Round 1 leaderboard at the end of play: Justin Hicks, 68 Kevin Streelman, 68 Rocco Mediate, 69 Stuart Appleby, 69 Eric Axley, 69 Geoff ...Schedule an Appointment

Reuters gives their preview. 1pm - ESPN - US Open Round 2 - Kevin Streelman is tied with Justin Hicks at 3 under, but there's no way a rookie (Streelman) or someone who doesn't have their Tour Card (Hicks) wins this, right? Geoff Ogilvy is lurking. EIGHTEEN DOWN, 54 TO GO. Round one of the U.S. Open is in the books, and two non-household names share the lead at three-under 68, Nationwide Tour player Justin Hicks and 29-year-old Kevin Streelman, who seems to emerge from obscurity on visits to Torrey Pines. Streelman was a big story at the Buick Invitational in January when he slipped into the field and then ...GXB talkback thread: U.S. Open, Day 2

So THE GREATEST THREESOME IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD didn't exactly light Torrey Pines on fire yesterday. Big deal. Anybody who thinks Tiger Woods , Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott are toast has been smokin' a little too much kikuyu. Your first day leaders are Kevin Streelman and some guy named Hicks ... the late comedian Bill Hicks? spend-happy Rangers owner Tom Hicks? No! Justin Hicks , who ...Imagine the possibility

Turns out I goofed. Not exactly very proud of it. But turns out that the first round US Open leader named Justin Hicks, isn't the same Justin Hicks who played in the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines earlier this year and gives golf lessons of which you can register online and I posted the link to that schedule earlier today. No that Justin Hicks is now officially known as Justin B Hicks. So ...Tony Romo Wouldn't Be the Worst Player in the U.S. Open Field This Week

We're almost through the first round of the U.S. Open and as far as these things go, the scoring has been pretty respectable. Kevin Streelman is atop the leaderboard at 4-under, and there are currently 27 players at even par or better. Earlier this week, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo teed it up at Torrey Pines, site of the Open, and fired a 84 from the tips . That's like Tim Herron rushing ...US Open: Justin Hicks Tops The Leaderboad

At least for now, anyway. While much of the focus was on the Woods/Mickelson/Adam Scott threesome, some other golfers decided to remind the free world there are some other golfers to pay attention to. Currently, the one everyone will be watching tomorrow is Justin Hicks, who, as of this writing, is sitting atop the US Open leaderboard at 3-under par. He’s followed closely by Rocco ...Hicksville

Justin Hicks finished his round at 3-under, the first golfer to get in the U.S. Open clubhouse at that number. Who? Doesn't it seem like there's a Justin Hicks on the first-day leaderboard every year at the U.S. Open? Hicks graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997 and turned pro that year. This is just his third career start on the PGA Tour, and one of the previous two was ...Hicks soars behind his seven birdies
