The Rare Tim Duncan Face
Published 4/22/2008 by Black Jesus Disciples at AZ Sports Hub - Arizona's Destination for Sports - Blogs - Podcasts - Forums
Basketbawful's word of the day is the Tim Duncan Face. We all know it. We all hate it (I especially despise #2 on their list.) The Tim Duncan Face I'd really love to see tonight is the one I featured above. The dejected, defeated, and helpless Tim Duncan. The one where he can't get anything going against Shaq. The one where Amare drops dunk after dunk on his head. The one where the Suns win by 50 and the Spurs are back to square one. Tipoff can't come soon enough. ...

Went to North Carolina @ Chapel Hill and after 2 years decided to go to "The League." Now I'm ballin with the Pistons and lovin it. We're in the midst of snatchin another title. I'm live and in full effect and I will be talkin to you good people later." Suns vs. Spurs "Duncan face" documented, and defined. TrueHoop reader Tim: ...

Youth Prevails! (Except In San Antonio) [Nba Closer]
Published 4/23/2008 by Leitch at Deadspin
The NBA Closer is written by Matt McHale, who spent most of last night scribbling CP3-4-Me all over his Trapper Keeper. When he's not man-loving on Chris Paul, he can be found practicing his Duncan face at Basketbawful. Enjoy!
The doctor is most definitely in. Chris Paul may not have graduated from college, but he has an honorary degree in MVPology. And last night, he gave Dirk Nowitzki a hands-on lesson in the subject. CP3 scored 32 points and had a franchise playoff-record 17 assists, and the New ...

Because There Is Going To Be Way Too Much Talk About This BS, I Have Decided To Settle It Once And For All

... I know the two scenarios are different. Amare and Diaw broke a "rule." Well, you know what? So did Kidd. The NBA penalizes people who commit fouls. If you commit enough of them, you are sent out of the game. If you commit too many technical fouls, you are ejected as well. Sometimes, you get suspended for those. Therefore, if a foul that you commit comes striking close to causing a major injury to another player and you don't pull a Duncan face (as if you did nothing wrong), then it is vicious and irresponsible basketball. Plus, awful sportsmanship. ...
San Antonio is Spurring My Intense Hatred

... for change, for newness, for surprise. I was just sick of the Spurs. Bored really. Right? That's why they suddenly seemed so unappealing. That's why I was finding myself actively rooting against them. That's what I kept telling myself. But, after watching this team play again and again, I've realized that...at the bottom of my gut...with every inch of me...I plain, straight hate the San Antonio Spurs. It all came to a boiling point last night. After months of watching The Duncan Face time after ridiculously annoying time...after too many flops and dramatic ...

Richard Hamilton turned in his best performance of the Playoffs scoring 24 point, 13 in the 1st quarter when he out scored Philadelphia by himself. Chauncey Billups added 20 points, as the Pistons won the 1st quarter by 18 points and never looked back. Rasheed Wallace had only 6 points but he gave us a great Duncan Face. ... The Spurs are probably feeling some goose bumps, too, thanks to the bitterly cold shooting of Duncan and Kurt Thomas (1-for-4). Tony Parker scored 23 on 9-for-17 shooting, but he also committed a game-high 5 turnovers and smelled vaguely of French pastries. Manu Ginobili came off the San Antonio bench to contribute 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, but he and his team still came up several flops and Duncan faces short. ...
