It never ceases to amaze me, the St. Louis Cardinals always exceed my expectations.  Each year is the year they finally crack.  And it never happens.  And it doesn’t get less annoying.  Or worrisome.  Still, the news never gets better for them.  Today, Chris Carpenter was transferred to the 60-day DL.  August, September, perhaps February.  He’ll be back in one of those months.  Matt Clement has been getting pounded in the minors, so now the Cardinals are thinking about moving him to the bullpen. Good, bad, or indifferent, Cesar Izturis goes to the DL and Nick Stavinoha gets promoted from Memphis.  ...
