Linkage – June 16

... some strong reviews from teams who have seen him so far, as he appears to be in excellent shape and is reminding people why he was considered a lock for the lottery just a year ago, running the floor well (better than his peers), finishing with either hand around the basket, and shooting the ball better than expected from outside. Not surprisingly, the 21-year old Georgetown product has been extremely impressive off the court as well—which is an underrated element in this process. - Draft Express With the seventeenth pick in the draft Ori and the Toronto Raptors select: Kosta ...

... , could now withdraw his name from the draft thanks to an injury over the weekend: Walker hurt his knee during the three man weave early on and was unable to make it past stretching, forcing him to pull out. An MRI conducted later (which is now circulating amongst teams) concluded that he has a partial tear in his meniscus, which will force him to sit for at least three weeks and not allow him to work out for any more NBA teams from now until the draft. There is reportedly no structural damage to the knee, but concerns could very well still linger considering that the 20-year ...

... If Westbrook is as good a defender as his reputation indicates, he'd fit in really well here, in the rare instance that we might move up in the draft. His supposed weakness is his inability to play point guard, but in the Princeton, that's not as big of a deal, since the primary role of the point guard is simply to bring the ball up the court and initiate the offense. Unfortunately, it appears his stock is rising, so we can kiss the dream goodbye. Posting and Toasting has more on Westbrook ...

... in the first round by the bulk of the mocks (I've even seen the Blazers projected as grabbing McGee), and he looks like your typical 7-foot NBA project. Both guys seemed to have unconventional shots. McGee possesses a long windup to the release (sort of reminded me of a Bill Cartwright free throw), and Hendrix's shot looked like he was casting a fishing line. Hendrix appears to have boosted his stock over the course of his workouts and really impressed some scouts last weekend during a group workout in Sacramento. He's projected as a second rounder.

... This team really needs a real two-guard and really needs a real power forward. They also have a chance to compete in the East next year, so they can't just take a spin on the Big Man Wheel of Doom. Lee has had great workouts and the Magic apparently like him (scroll down a bit, Magic fans). Plus he can contribute right away. Well, if the indomitable force that is the ...
