... If there’s one player whose plight I can cope with, it’s definitely Larry Johnson. In a Q&A with Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star, Johnson says he’s prepared for a holdout. Grandmama’s set to make $1.7 million this year, but that’s nothing compared to what he does. Johnson is a banger and a bruiser, and at the pace he’s going, he’s not going to have much of a shelf life. Let’s break it down. ...

... Chiefs RB Larry Johnson asked by the KC Star if he's prepared for a long holdout? “I’m prepared,” Johnson said matter-of-factly. “They (my agent and father) got me saving money. ... despite the fact that he is their offense, at this point and time, due to his demand for a contract extension and the possibility he will hold out. Interesting options presented: NY Giants, New Orleans, Philly, Green Bay. Carolina ought to look about getting in on that, if possible. Problem is, LJ isn’t Fantasy Jesus (LDT), and the trends of backs who carry 400 times in a season aren’t good. Better make it for a 3-year contract for big money, if possible. ...
The Dailies: Holdout heaven in Kansas City

... . If this leads to at least partial private financing for a new stadium for the team, I am seriously on board. I ll never get political here, but I have completely soured on the boondoggle that is the current taxpayer-supported ballpark boom. Invesco Field is an incredible place to watch a game, and I wouldn t trade it for any park in America, but Pat Bowlen could have footed a bit more of the bill for a venue that has made him hundreds of millions. All this crap is mildly interesting, but the real News Of The Day is going down in Kansas City. The full text of Jason Whitlock s interview with Larry Johnson is now available, and if you haven t read it please travel there immediately ( Part One , ...
