Too little, too late. That seems to be the case for the Yankees, who won for the second time to kick off their 10-game road trip Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, beating the Rays, 7-2. Still, the Yankees are holding out hope for a miracle.

... more flexibility and autonomy than ever; those mid-season trades had his fingerprints all over them. Nevertheless, sometimes people just want a change of pace. We wouldn't be shocked either way, and Cashman's status will be the biggest storyline heading into the offseason -- even bigger than what will be a gaping hole at first base. Anyway, it was nice to see Joba back last night, and nice to see a win over the Rays. The Yanks aren't giving in just yet , or still breathing, as Mark Feinsand puts it , and keeping alive their 1.8% chance of making the playoffs . ...
