MLS News Frank Dell'apa of the Boston Globe reports that New England forward Taylor Twellman did not travel with the team to training camp in Bermuda due to his groin injury. TGIF: Houston DP, Plus Other Rumors
Published 2/15/2008 by drew.epperley at WVHooligan - Soccer Blog
Happy end-of-the-work-week to you all. I must say it is definitely a TGIF kind of Friday for this guy here, its been a hectic week of work in my normal job and the MLS thankfully has kept me on my toes enough to say the least as well. Let’s get down to it though for the morning shall we? Okay, a decent bit of talk out there yesterday about a possible designated player signing in the league. No mention of the player and in some circles no mention of the team. Others seem to get the idea that it is Houston ...
Jimmy Conrad Top 20 in MLS
Published 2/15/2008 by M at Down the Byline
This was posted a few days ago, but thought I'd throw it out there. Martin Rogers over on Yahoo Sports has ranked the top 20 players in MLS according to him. At number 17 on the list, is Wizards defender and captain, Jimmy Conrad. About Conrad, Rogers says, "Experienced, he's one of the league's most solid defenders." I don't know how much I can argue with where he's located, although I have problems where some players are ranked on the list. I think someone like Christian Gomez is ranked too low, as is Juan Pablo Angel in my opinion. I also think that David Beckham is ranked too high on the list.

YAHOO!!! We own 10% of the 20 BEST MLS PLAYERS!
Published 2/21/2008 by Dave Martinez at New York Red Bulls
Put this under the “MEANINGLESS POLLS FROM REPUTABLE SOURCES” category.
Yahoo! has once again graced us with their professional soccer opinions! This time around, they rank the top 20 players in the MLS, all based on past league merit, with a slight basis on past ability. Meaning Marcelo Gallardo will not make the list.
How well did we do? Well, read the blog title! And it gets better!
But first, in the great honor of misleading information through journalism (I learn it from the New York Times), I must confess, 10%, though a nice sized percentage, is meaningless. Fact of the matter is, Los Angeles has 10% ...
