Yahoo will announce tomorrow it has bought collegiate sports site Rivals.com. Rivals.com runs a subscription business, charging $10 to $100 per month to 185,000 subscribers. Its peak traffic was 2.57 million visitors last September at the kickoff of college football season. [link]

TechCrunch also has the story and is reporting the price came in around $100 Million. Wow.

Talk about finally cashing out...but you have to look at the history of Rivals to know that some folks lost their shirts with this venture...
