Triple A

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees beat the Charlotte Knights by a score of 5-1. Starting for Scranton was Steven White and he gave up no runs on 3 hits in 6.2 innings of work for the win. Replacing White in the 7th inning was Billy Traber and he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Scott Patterson pitched the 9th inning and gave up no runs on 2 hits. The hitting stars of the game for Scranton were center fielder Brett Gardner, right-fielder Gregory Porter and catcher Chris Stewart. Gardner went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Porter went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi along with a home run BOMB. Stewart went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and is batting .304 on the year.

Double A

The Trenton Thunder beat the Erie SeaWolves by a score of 6-0 and the game was completed early in the 6th inning because of rain. Starting for the Trenton Thunder was Phil Coke and he gave up no runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work along with 7 strike outs for the win. The hitting stars of the game for Trenton were center fielder Austin Jackson, left-fielder Edwar Gonzalez and second baseman Reegie Corona. Jackson went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Gonzalez went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a big, mean, home, run, BOMB. Corona went 2 for 3 with 2 rbi’s.

Starting for Tampa was Ryan Pope and he gave up no runs on 5 hits in 6 innings of work along with 6 strike outs for the win. Replacing Pope to start the 7th inning was Grant Duff and he pitched a perfect 7th inning. Following Duff was Philip Bartleski and he pitched a perfect 8th inning. Jose Valdez pitched the 9th inning for his first save and he gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit. The hitting stars of the game for Tampa worth mentioning were third baseman Mitch Hilligoss and left-fielder Tim Battle. Hilligoss went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and Battle went 1 for 3 with 1 rbi.

Class A

The Charleston RiverDogs got beat up by the Asheville Tourist by a score of 9-3. Starting for the RiverDogs was Noel Castillo and he gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 4.2 innings for the loss. Replacing Castillo in the 5th inning was Jesse Hoover and he got absolutely rocked giving up 4 earned runs on 5 hits in 1.1 innings. Replacing Hoover to start the 8th inning was Gabe Medina and he gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs were second baseman Justin Snyder and right-fielder Taylor Holiday. Snyder went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Holiday went 1 for 4 with 2 rbi’s.
