The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees lost to the Buffalo Bisons by a score of 7-5. Starting for Scranton was Alan Horne and he gave up 2 earned runs on 1 hit along with 3 walks in .2 of an inning. Replacing Horne was Steven White and he gave up 2 earned runs on 3.2 innings. Following White was Billy Traber and he gave up 3 earned runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings for the loss. Scott Strickland started the 7th and pitched 2 perfect innings striking out 4. The hitting stars of the game for Scranton worth mentioning were second baseman Bernie Castro who went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run and short stop Cody Ransom who went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run.

Double A

The Trenton Thunder romped on the Portland Sea Dogs and won by a score of 8-2. Starting for Trenton was Phil Coke and he gave up 2 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings of work for the win but 1 run was unearned because of a throwing error by shortstop Ramiro Pena. Replacing Coke to start the 7th inning was Steven Jackson and he pitched 3 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit for the save.

The hitting stars of the game for Trenton worth mentioning were first baseman Cody Ehlers, left-fielder Edwar Gonzalez and right-fielder Jose Tabata. Ehler went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi. Gonzalez went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored and 3 “big” rbi’s along with a mean spirited, big blow to the other team so much that they start to cry, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar type of home, run, BAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHHHHHMB!! Tabata went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored and 4 huge rbi’s along with a I can’t wait to go down the shore this year to meet all the ladies because all the ladies love me and they don’t love you It’s Not Love by Dokken type of home, run, BIZZZZZEROOOONI!!!!

The Tampa Yankees dominated a very good Palm Beach Cardinals pitching staff and won by a score of 7-1. Starting for Tampa was Zach McAllister and he gave up 1 earned run on 7 hits in 6.2 innings for the win. Replacing McAllister was Josh Schmidt and he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits. Edgar Soto pitched a perfect 9th inning. The hitting stars of the game for Tampa worth mentioning were third baseman Mitch Hilligoss who went 1 for 2 with 3 runs scored along with 3 walks and first baseman Kevin Smith who went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored and 3 rbi’s.

Class A

The Charleston RiverDogs won a close scoring game over the Savannah Sand Gnats by a score of 3-2. Starting for the RiverDogs was Adam Olbrychowski and he gave up 2 earned runs on 8 hits in 4.2 innings of work for the no decision. Replacing Olbrychowski was Jesse Hoover and he pitched 3.2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits for the win. Chase Vacek pitched a scoreless 9th inning giving up 2 hits for the save. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs worth mentioning were center fielder Abraham Almonte, first baseman Brandon Laird and short stop Carmen Angelini. Almonte went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored. Laird went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi and Angelini went 4 for 4 with 1 rbi. “Doing the Charleston, all night long!” That’s what the announcer said.
