... ) Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times has a few new names for us: the Mariners have "serious interest" in reliever Al Reyes and may go for Edwin Jackson as well. Their interest in Reyes isn't surprising, as he's been very good save for a handful of abysmal outings. It's not as if he's been consistently medicore. The E-Jax part has me scratching my head. On the one hand, is E-Jax being used as a "if you want Al, you've gotta take Jackson" piece? On the other, you have to remember that they've got Bill Bavasi - maybe the worst GM in baseball - running the show. Also, in an update on yesterday, these "sources" all disagree on the Yankees' interest in Ty Wigginton, again according to MLBTradeRumors.
