... something we all know -- that Derek Jeter hasn't been his usual self this season. Although Jeter would never admit it, hitting coach Kevin Long feels the hand injury Jeter suffered back in May is the reason for the decline in the Captain's batting average. Johnny Damon is hoping his solid first half of 2008 will help land him a spot on the all-star squad. He's sixth in the voting right now, but we can definitely see him being selected as a reserve.
