It has been posted on various sites around the internet today that the Yankees are interested in Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. Darvish is an Iranian/Japanese starting pitcher for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. He is 21 years of age, and is widely heralded one of, if not the best pitchers in Japanese baseball. He is listed as 6'5" tall and 185 pounds. [link]

A Sports Hankook (Korea) report, relying on a Japanese source, says that the Yankees plan to nab Darvish following the 2008 season.
