A-Rod the Latest Yankee Headed to DL

According to the Associated Press, New York Yankees shortstop Alex Rodriguez is the latest Bronx Bomber headed to the 15-day disabled list. The diagnosis for A-Rod is a strained right quadriceps. An MRI revealed a Grade 2 strain. Rodriguez of course joins catcher Jorge Posada on the DL, who is nursing a shoulder injury to his throwing arm. This is A-Rod’s first time on the DL since 2000, when he was playing for the Seattle Mariners.
Replacing those 2 bats in the lineup will certainly not be easy. A-Rod and Posada were the most productive Yankee hitters just a season ago, when Rodriguez won the American League MVP award. Morgan Ensberg will likely see the ...

UPDATE: (4/30) 9:56pm (EST) - As per Bryan Hoch at MLB.com, right-hander Phil Hughes is yet *another* Yankee headed to the DL. Hughes was placed on the disabled list with a strained right oblique.

UPDATE: (5/1) 7:00pm (EST) - Hughes’ injury is more significant than initially thought. Hughes is expected to be out until July with a fracture if his 9th rib.He won’t resume any baseball activities for four weeks.
