Gone are the days when six runs felt like the Yankee bats had an off day. We didn't watch today's 6-3 victory , but it sure seemed like the offense erupted: the Yanks hit four homers in the game, one each from Jason Giambi , Robby Cano (no, really), Johnny Damon and Wilson Betemit . For Cano, this was his first multi-hit game since April 12 -- nearly a month ago. Mike Mussina continues to be exactly what the Yanks need him to be -- just enough to keep the team in the game until the bats come around. The New York Yankees won a close game over the Cleveland Indians by a score of 6-3. Starting for the New York Yankees was Mike Mussina and he gave up 3 earned runs on 4 hits in 5 innings for the win. Replacing Mussina to start the 6th inning was Ross Ohlendorf and he gave up no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Joba started the formula and pitched a perfect 8th inning and Mariano closed the game in the 9th inning for his 9th save of the season. He pitched a scoreless inning giving up only 1 hit.
