Yankees send Ian Kennedy down to Triple-A Scranton Generation Meh. The roster move to get Darrell Rasner active for Sunday’s start was … Ian Kennedy. Yep, the Yanks are asking Kennedy to get himself straightened out at Triple-A Scranton. As Joe Girardi said, it’s up to Kennedy how fast he returns to the majors. Apparently, he told Kennedy, it could be a couple of starts or 15 starts, depending on how he does. As Kennedy put it, “If you want to pout or moan, that’s what will happen. A couple starts, I’d rather have that happen.” The Yankees are concerned with Kennedy’s ...

Apparently, he told Kennedy, it could be a couple of starts or 15 starts, depending on how he does. As Kennedy put it, "If you want to pout or moan, that's what will happen. At the same time, he admitted that he doesn't have as much confidence as he did last September or during his meteoric rise through the ...

Kennedy demoted

With Darrell Rasner having to be added to the 40-man roster to start this afternoon, Ian Kennedy has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Brian Bruney has been moved to the 60-day disabled list. Kennedy is 0-2 with an 8.37 ERA in six games (five starts). The Yankees are 1-5 whenever Kennedy has appeared on the mound this season, so this is the right move.

Rasner wearing No. 43

Darrell Rasner is making his 2008 Major League debut right now, and is wearing No. 43. Any astute Yankee fan will know that that was Scott Proctor 's number when he was with the Yankees. Yet LaTroy Hawkins was tormented for wearing No. 21. Yankee fans need to be more consistent with their booing.

Rasner Calls Up a Win
Darrell Rasner gave the Yankees what they couldn't get from Phil Hughes or Ian Kennedy this year, a quality start and a win. Yankees Demote Ian Kennedy to Minors
As per ESPN.com , the New York Yankees sent their struggling right-hander, Ian Kennedy, down to the minor leagues. In 6 appearances (5 starts) this 2008 season, Kennedy posted a 0-2 record, with an atrocious 8.37 ERA. He also walked 20 batters, while only striking out 16. Kennedy had this reaction to the move: “I was kind of surprised. But it’s bound to happen if you don’t ...

To make room for Darrell Rasner, the Yankees o ptioned Ian Kennedy to Scranton this morning . Not much of a surprise here. Kennedy was 0-2 with a 8.37 ERA in the five games he started. Kennedy Gone, Igawa Next?
The Yankees have optioned Ian Kennedy down to make room for Rasner.  Since Kennedy has to stay in the minors for 10 days (unless the Yankees have an injury) it is safe to assume that he is out of the rotation right now and Igawa is probably going to take his place. It's hard to argue with the move because Kennedy is a mess right now.  The Yankees can send him to Scranton and ...

Ian Kennedy Sent Down
To clear room for Darrell Rasner, the Yankees sent Ian Kennedy to Triple-A. This is probably the correct short term and long term move. That’s all right. It happens. Kennedy will be back ...

Ian Kennedy has been demoted to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre and Darrell Rasner has been promoted. Tough break for Kennedy, but he could probably use the time out of the spotlight to correct what’s ailing him. Rasner has been pitching very well in AAA. Rasner will get the start today.
Who is Darrell Rasner?
Today Darrell Rasner will take Phil Hughes spot in the rotation and even though we have seen brief glimpses of him in the past I don't think us Yankee fans really know what Rasner is all about.
