Joel Sherman of the New York Post is not a very popular fellow with his readers today. Sherman committed the sin of siding with the geeks in the debate over Derek Jeter’s defense.
Hank Steinbrenner just can’t seem to shut up, especially when it comes to making sure everyone knows it’s Brian Cashman’s fault Johan Santana is a Met. Mike Lupica wishes he would shut up, already.

... is a different story. A non-roster invitee this spring, Traber is trying to land a spot on the Yankees 25-man roster out of camp. He’s competing with another lefty, Sean Henn, whom many feel has the inside track because he’s out of options. If Traber doesn’t make the team, he’d start the year at Triple-A Scranton/WB. A former first-round pick of the Mets in 2000, Traber is also a Tommy John surgery survivor.
