The Yankees dropped their second straight series last night, losing the rubber game in Boston by a score of 8-5 . The game took a ridiculous three hours and 55 minutes to play and saw 336 pitches thrown. The majority of those pitches, 193 to be exact, came out of the hands of Red Sox hurlers, including 116 in five innings from Daisuke Matsuzaka, who walked six and allowed four runs in his five frames. ... White Sox 11, Tigers 0 Are they even trying? Apparently Jim Leyland waited until this 10th loss, and second straight shutout to tear into his team. What was he waiting for? It's not so much the pitching, we knew they would give up double figures many times this season but where are the bats? Curtis Granderson can't come back soon enough. Let's see what happens when he returns in a week - then we can write the Tigs off.
