They don't need more offense, they need young pitching. And they need to keep the young pitchers that they have. How about offering Moose and (insert name of old broken down pitcher here)?

The Yankees should look to improve any way they can.  If you need to give up three wins on the pitching side to gain five on the hitting side, I think it's worth it, if money and contract length are equal.

Plus, with the loss of ARod and expected return to career levels by Jorge Posada, the offense will be significantly worse than last year without any improvements.

... The Marlins will need a third baseman in return, so Betemit is completely expendable. But then, if the price is (hypothetically) Phil Hughes and not Ian Kennedy, does Cashman do this? Probably not. If the price is I-Ken, Betemit and Melky, then Miggy just might be a Yankee. But that trade would create a host of other problems, like who the Yanks daily centerfielder would be. Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui are going to get hurt next season, it's just a matter of when. Brian Cashman said he will not trade any one of Joba, Hughes or Kennedy to get Miguel. That may be just a ...

... The question is where will he land.  All the New York papers are leading with the Yankees as a possible destination, and all three quote Yankees' GM Brian Cashman stating that the inclusion of Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain or Ian Kennedy is too much for a 24-year-old hitting stud who will cost less for two season than Alex Rodriguez will cost for one.  While all three papers mention the Big Three, only the Mark Feinsand of the Daily News speculates, "The Yankees would likely offer a deal involving their next tier of prospects, which includes Alan Horne, ...
