Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte, two of the biggest remaining prizes in the baseball trade market, are New York Yankees.
I guess that answers the question of whether or not the surging the Yankees would go all in to try and make the playoffs in Yankee Stadium’s final season.
Chalk up a win for GM Brian Cashman here. He got the outfielder most contending teams wanted and a quality lefty setup guy without giving up much.

First off, I really like this trade. I think the Yankees got two very good players to boost a club that has already shown that they have what it takes to get the job done this year. This trade makes the Yankees serious AL East contenders. And if for some reason they can't swing the East, they are the front runners in my book to win the wild card.
