Chad Jennings (hat tip to River Ave. Blues ) is reporting that the Yankees signed 26 year old catcher Chris Stewart to a minor league deal. Stewart was once a fairly well regarded catching prospect in the White Sox system and he made his major league debut with Chicago in 2006. Chad Jennings is the man!!! Keeping track of minor league signings is a tedious venture so I’m glad someone is keeping up with it. Jennings posted today that the Yankees have signed backup catcher Chris Stewart and assigned him to Triple-A. Catcher Jason Brown was subsequently sent to the GCL. Stewart came up in the White Sox organization. Hat tips to RAB And Sliding into Home.
