DETROIT -- It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. That was the general consensus after the Yankees won a slugfest on Monday afternoon, holding off the Detroit Tigers, 13-9, in a makeup of a game scheduled for May 11 that was rained out. "The bottom line is we won," said Alex Rodriguez, who drove in four runs. "We can't get caught up in how it happened. We lose that game, I don't know how we ...

I didn't do what I was supposed to do today

"I didn't do what I was supposed to do today" --Sidney Ponson, 9/1/08 Actually, yes you did. You sucked. It's exactly what we expected you to do. Want to do something unexpected? Try lasting 7+ innings and allowing less than 3 runs and less than a runner an inning. That'd be exactly what you weren't ...
Mets Try to Take Niese and Easley Approach to the Brewers But its Beltran and Bullpen to the Rescue

A sweep would be amazing, but seems entirely possible, since I don't expect that the Mets will have to solve P Manny Parra at the plate Wednesday night. ...

nypost.com 9/2/2008 — DETROIT - Paging Mr. Phil Hughes. Or maybe that is too obvious a move for the Yankees. Nevertheless, it no longer makes sense sending Sidney Ponson to the mound for a whipping every fifth day. While Ponson was torturing his team at Comerica Park...
