Yo, Tiger: if you can't back the yap, zip the lip :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Jay Mariotti
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- In one disjointed sense, this truly was a piece of history we should tell the grandkids about. Never before has Tiger Woods been so fantastically presumptuous -- and so gloriously wrong. Without prompting from any source but his own inner voices, he had the temerity to suggest that a calendar-year Grand Slam was ``easily within reason'' for him. I easily can say there was no ... ... the Nuggets victory last night a bit too much. [ Deadspin ] I love Erin Andrews, but she really should have re-thought this wardrobe decision. I'll be the first to volunteer to take that skirt off for her. [ Busted Coverage ] Disaster has been averted!! [ With Leather ] In case you missed it over the weekend, football on NFL Network just became a lot more watchable. [ FanHouse ] Damn, Mariotti is going after Tiger Woods now? You mean he flip-flopped!? [ Chicago Sun-Times ]

When Some Columnists Just Don't Get It
Published 4/15/2008 by Shane B. at Dogs That Chase Cars
I know what most people think of Jay Mariotti and I don't blame them - he is loud, uniformed and usually wrong, but he does have a column in one of the largest newspaper in the nation and gets to talk on ESPN, most journalists early childhood dream. What he doesn't have is sense - especially when talking about Tiger's comments on the potential for a "Grand Slam" earlier this year. Tiger Woods said it was within reach, and anyone that knows golf and knows Tiger Woods shrugged and agreed. The guy had won four majors in a row before, he was on a streak unknown to any ...

Immelman a Hit for CBS and Nike Golf
So much for 2008 being the year that Tiger Woods wins the "Grand Slam" of golf by capturing all 4 of golf's majors. Trevor Immelman of South Africa was solid for 4 rounds of play and captured The Masters title for 2008. Woods, who missed a number of reasonable putts in yesterday's final round, finished 2nd, three shots behind Immelman. As we discussed on our show this past ...
Tiger Woods Will Still Win the Grand Slam This Year
(C O'Neal/Flickr) “Tiger Woods, whose hopes for a calendar Grand Slam ended with a thud,” reported ESPN.com. “And it ends the American’s hopes of a Grand Slam of all four majors this year,” concluded BBC SPORT. Here they come. The doubters. The naysayers. Those who have lost the faith. But things are not as they seem on April 13. Tiger Woods will still win the Grand Slam this year. Not the ...
Masters Magic
As I sit here, a Trevor Immelman (?) sits atop the leaderboard at Augusta, with 8-under-par. I feel as though he might have a better seat than I, even if it may be short-lived. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods was set to tee off a few minutes ago. Yesterday, “he bored” the crowds by coming in “only” at even-par. As they say though, a bad day on the golf course is better ...
Sharks Playoff Mania, down 0-1: Is Iginla better than the Sharks all by himself?
Just to prove I’m not totally, frivolously committed to All Things Warriors-Nuggets today (though after the last typing on this entry, I will be)… -ON THE MASTERS: Hey, I figured it out–Tiger Woods makes these majors basically a two-day event. His opponents have two days to get... Continue reading...
Tiger Woods Major Poll Closed
The Hooked On Golf Blog voters, a.k.a. “The Pundits,” have spoken. It was a tight poll but the largest percentage of readers think Tiger will win four majors this year. As great as Tiger is, I think he won’t. It’s just too difficult and ONE swing in the U.S. OPEN or even [...]
