... I think it's a nice move by Melvin. Durham adds a left-handed bat (actually switch) to the bench and will likely start in place of Weeks a couple of times a week, according to Yost. A strict platoon seems unlikely based on Yost's comments, but "The Sugarman" has a .396 OBP against right-handed pitchers on the year compared to a .304 for Weeks, so some kind of a loose platoon might be in order. Durham brings a nice OBP (.385) and batting average (.293), some speed and a little pop. He is not great with the glove as his range is suspect, but he is serviceable ...
