 You Stay Classy, Bobby
Of course, the one thing that could bring me out of my self-imposed blogging exile is the fact that Bob Knight has retired. It does not escape me that Bob Knight can’t win with me, and I’m not going to pass up on the fact that his latest antic is in ridiculously poor taste and proves once again that Bobby is out for himself. To quote the man himself (via ESPN): ... [link]

My Favorite Bobby Knight Story
I originally posted this a little more than a year ago , but it's worth repeating with the man's retirement. And because that 2.5 mile walk never gets old to me. Bobby Knight: A Legend Gone But Not Soon Forgotten
Now I don’t claim to know a lot about college basketball.   I do watch it, especially during conference tournaments and March Madness. So I will support “my school."   I’ll watch North Carolina, because they have one of the best storied programs ...
A History of Wilding: ESPN’s Forde on Bobby Knight’s Jerky Exit, Legacy
Bobby Knight, to me, has always represented just about everything that’s wrong with a certain flavor of American masculinity. His blinkered, rageful lack of perspective — the high standard to which he held others (including those just trying to use the salad bar ) and the lack of any personal behavioral standard to which he held himself — strikes me as at the root of a great ...
The Strangely Subdued End of Bobby Knight’s Coaching Career
I always expected the last days of Bobby Knight to be, well, like the last days. There would be fire and brimstone, certainly. Probably beasts and flying chairs and most likely Bill Parcells. It would not be quiet. It couldn’t be. Of course, it was. Knight retired (quit) abruptly yesterday , putting his son Pat at the helm of Texas Tech. But perhaps the oddest part of the abrupt ...

Off into the Knight

Bob Knight Preached Commitment, Deserves Scorn for Quitting on His Team
Throughout his long coaching career, Bob Knight has preached the importance of commitment to the team, the importance of putting others ahead of oneself, the importance of collective goals over individual needs. Bobby Knight Will Have More Time To Curse at Golf Balls Now

A Knight’s Tale
As the Texas Tech head basketball coach, legendary Bobby Knight resigns midseason as abruptly as his attitude on the basketball court. Remembering Knight (expletives deleted)
Bobby Knight suddenly retired last night, walking away from Texas Tech with 10 games left in the season. A brilliant coach, Knight should be spoken of in the same sentence as Wooden, Smith and Krzyzewski. But most will remember Knight for his abrasive personality. As a college basketball writer, I encountered Knight several times. The first time, in 1995, was the one I will never forget. ...
