Though ESPN 's Peter Gammons reported the sides had agreed on a four-year, $40 million-plus deal, it is not yet done, according to the source. On the day of the deadline for filing for arbitration, the Sox and Kevin Youkilis are "close" to a long-term deal, confirmed a baseball source.
