Adding Injury To Insult

The Padres lost more than a ball game (11-3 Cards victory) and a series Wednesday night as in the span of 360 feet the Friars lost their battery of Young and Bard. In the top half of the 3rd inning a line drive off the bat of Albert Pujols hit CY square in the face and after a few minutes on the ground and a bloodied jersey later Young left the game to a standing ovation and a 2-0 lead. Young was placed on the DL with an broken nose, while Bard was ...
VIDEO: Pujols Injures Two Padres in One Inning
If, for the rest of their lives, the San Diego Padres collectively break into a cold sweat whenever the name “ Albert Pujols ” is mentioned, no one will blame them. (Video) Albert Pujols: One Man Wrecking Machine
OUCH. As said on the video, other than dealing with nightmares of an Albert Pujols soft liner coming at his face, Chris Young should be fine. Not that a broken nose is any picnic, but at least you’re breathing… albeit through the mouth. Bard’s ankle looked like it was about to go Robin Ventura on us. Thankfully that’s not the case, although a trip to ...
