Your Exclusive First Look At ESPN's "Mayne Street"
When ESPN first released word that they were going to be using Kenny Mayne for an online sitcom , I scoffed at the idea. But after watching the clips that they released today, I think it actually might be worth a viewing. Here's a little background info from ESPN and I spliced together the ... [link]

... Manny Stiles (at AGM) talks about the tournement of losers Its still early on this, but a nice little Rays-White Sox Preview as well Ladies and Gentleman, Sheshawn Johnson. I mean, I hate Terrell Owens and I think "Sheshawn" is an idiot for defending him (just like Michael Irvin is/was), but this is what happens when major egos collide. At least they have a lot in common...mostly by the rings on their fingers (0) When did Kenny Mayne jump the shark? (We at BNB believe it was 1998, during the Home Run chase and the death of ...

ESPN IS DOING SOMETHING… COOL?

... One such outpost appears to be the new “Mayne Street,” a comedy series featuring three- to five-minute episodes that will appear on ESPN.com starting on November 11th [Editor's Note: Veteran's Day], then promptly get ripped onto BuzzCuts and DailyMotion so that Awful Announcing and I can show you the content without using ESPN’s commercial-heavy content.  Take that, rich and powerful corporation!  Taste the pain of the blogger revolution! **throws pebble at imposing fortress** That oughta learn ‘em. ...

+ Al  Davis scares the crap out of me. {The Sporting Blog.} + Larry Brown doesn’t understand why Jerry Manuel is getting a free pass. This is also a guy that said Jim Thome was going to lead to AL in homers, so take his opinion for what it’s worth. (Love you Larry!) {Larry Brown Sports.} + Mayne Street is coming. Yes. {Awful Announcing.} “The last three days the Sox have essentially been playing playoff baseball. It was lose-and-go-home, pack your bags, ...

ESPN, Mayne Street, with Kenny Mayne, Coming Soon Video. This video is so awesome that is defies description and laughs at recaps. You just have to watch it. Kenny Mayne is a comedic genius and Scott Van Pelt is not too bad himself. This will be my new favorite show. Move over Gossip Girl. ( That was a Joke ) Huge Hat tip for the vid goes to Awful Announcing.

Stage Set For Sklar Bros. vs. Kenny Mayne
Published 10/15/2008 at FirstCuts
Seems as if the mainstream big corporate sports entities are getting hip to this web thing, or about as hip as you can be with retread comics (and I use that term loosely) and Kenny Mayne. Awful Announcing brought a sneak peek into the world of "Mayne Street," ESPN's webisodes featuring the sometimes hilarious, all-the-time deadpan Kenny Maybe. The clip, which you can see below, is promising. Very Sports Night-ish, especially this skit, which shows Mayne struggling to pronounce Rafael Nadal correctly (similar to the Sports Night episode where Danny can't pronounce ...
