Since the shine started to rub off of the NBA's All-Star
Weekend a few years back, quite a few people (ESPN's Bill Simmons being the
most prominent among them) have been begging for some sort of one-on-one
tournament (or, at the very least, a few games of H-O-R-S-E) to take the place
of some of the weekend's lesser lights.

... was a lame duck that had to prove himself. Stefanski had all the leverage and was able to force Cheeks to do some things against his nature. I’m sure Cheeks is an honorable man, but now Stefanski holds little leverage over Cheeks, and Cheeks will run the team exactly as he sees fit. If Cheeks learned somethings from last season then Kool and The Gang, the extended extension is all good. If he’s still the same old Cheeks, then mediocrity here we come again.”
