I don’t know what the Mets were thinking when they decided to forego placing Ryan Church on the DL after his concussion on May 20. Now that his concussion symptoms have returned, they finally placed him on the 15-day DL to give his injured brain a rest. The move is retroactive to June 6th. Following a concussion, even mild activity such as jogging can accentuate symptoms, so it seems obvious that the demands of playing baseball every day would make him feel worse.
