Federer draws del Potro in ATP finals (AP)

Top-ranked Roger Federer will play U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Murray in the round-robin phase of the ATP World Tour Finals. After Wednesday's draw, Federer also faces Fernando Verdasco in Group A. The Swiss star lost to Del Potro in the U.S. Open final. "Obviously, I look forward to playing Roger," Murray said.

Federer to face Del Potro after ATP Finals draw

Top-ranked Roger Federer has been drawn to face both U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Murray in the group round of the ATP World Tour Finals. Federer, who lost to Del Potro in the U.S. Open final, will also face Fernando Verdasco in the round-robin phase in Group A. Second-ranked Rafael Nadal was drawn into Group B on Wednesday with Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko and Robin Soderling.

Czechs to use Stepanek, Berdych in final

Czech captain Jaroslav Navratil says he plans to go to next month's Davis Cup finals against Spain with the same players that beat Croatia in the semifinals. Navratil told Czech public radio Friday that 14th ranked Radek Stepanek, who beat fourth-ranked Andy Murray 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round of the Paris Masters on Thursday, will be again accompanied by Tomas Berdych at the Dec 4-6 Davis Cup tie in Barcelona.

Murray falls; Nadal, Djokovic into Paris quarters

A tired Andy Murray lost to Radek Stepanek 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 while a sluggish Rafael Nadal survived another three-setter in the third round of the Paris Masters on Thursday. Nadal overcame fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in 2 hours, 20 minutes, breaking twice in the last three games. Novak Djokovic and defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga enjoyed more routine wins, while 2006 champ Nikolay Davydenko lost but secured one of the two last spots in the ATP World Tour Finals this month.

Murray beats Youzhny 6-3, 6-2 to win Valencia Open

Andy Murray has won his sixth title of the season in his first tournament back from a wrist injury, beating Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-3, 6-2 in the Valencia Open final. The fourth-ranked Briton hadn't played since the U.S. Open in September. Murray broke twice in each set on Sunday and served eight aces to improve to 2-0 against the 23rd-ranked Youzhny.
