Darrin Horn to be named South Carolina basketball coach

A week after guiding Western Kentucky to the Sweet 16, Darrin Horn has been named the new head basketball coach at South Carolina. Horn was 111-48 in five seasons at WKU and replaces Dave Odom, who stepped down after seven seasons as head coach of the Gamecocks. The announcement is expected to be made official Tuesday

Pacman Jones traded to Dallas for a fifth round pick

As expected, Tennessee defensive back and return specialist Adam "Pacman" Jones has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a fifth round pick, according to RotoTimes.com. Jones fetched a fifth round pick from the Cowboys, according to the web site, which added that a press conference was scheduled for Monday Morning.

Titans offensive lineman Benji Olson retires

Calling it a "tough decision", Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Benji Olson retired today. Olson, a fifth round pick out of Washington in 1998, suffered from back pain last year and couldn't make a go of it this year.

While plentiful, Kentucky's losses don't look so bad now

Kentucky enters the SEC Tournament this week with a record of 18-11. Even with a first round loss, that should be enough to get into the NCAA Tournament. The average record of the teams that UK lost to is 23-8. Take out Gardner-Webb -- the only team from the above that will likely miss the NCAA Tourmament -- and that inflates to 24-7. 10 of those 11 teams will likely make the Big Dance.

Patrick Patterson out for the year with a fractured ankle

Kentucky freshman Patrick Patterson is done for the season after a stress fracture was found in his left ankle. Patterson, who is averaging 16.4 points a game, had the stress fracture confirmed in an X-ray today.

Joker Phillips to suceed Rich Brooks as Kentucky football coach

The University of Kentucky is holding a press conference today to announce that Joker Phillips will take over as head coach when current coach Rich Brooks decides to step down. Phillips, a former Wildcat player, has been on the UK sidelines for three years as offensive coordinator and previously served as recruiting coordinator. Brooks has a 25-35 record in five seasons at UK.
