Reports say that Sabathia-for-LaPorta deal has been finalized

Anthony Castrovince, the Cleveland Indians’ beat writer on MLB.com, reports Sunday afternoon that anonymous sources have confirmed that a trade has been consummated between the Indians and Milwaukee Brewers. C.C. Sabathia will be sent to Milwaukee in exchange for three prospects. Matt LaPorta, the Brewers No. 1 draft pick in 2006, is believed to be part of the package.

2008 MLB Draft Profile - Eric Hosmer

To be drafted as a 1B out of high school, there has to be no doubt you can hit - and to me, Eric Hosmer has not hit well enough in showcases (Aflac and Team USA) to justify being ranked ahead of other 1B like Smoak, Alonso, and Wallace. Furthermore, his high school competition has not been outstanding.
