Kobe Bryant Wins Life
Straight Bangin' —
The casual brilliance of Kobe Bryant. That's all. Sometimes people forget it, and they need to recognize.
Video: Kobe playin' H-O-R-S-E, hits over-the-backboard shot
Ball Don't Lie —
In the span of just two minutes, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant(notes): (a) hit a shot from behind the backboard after being forced baseline by Thunder rookie James Harden(notes), (b) nailed a pretty up-and-under reverse layup, and (c) banked home a difficult runner — with his left hand — to beat the first quarter buzzer. He will accept the My Little Pony/H-O-R-S-E trophy from inaugural winner Kevin Durant(notes), postgame.

Kobe Bryant Video – Over the Backboard
EveryJoe —
In this Kobe Bryant video, you can see one of the best shots you’ll ever see in an NBA game. The video shows Kobe making a shot from behind the backboard and at an impossible angle. You must watch it. It’s a sick, sick shot.
When Kobe wasn’t adding to his legend, he was helping the Los Angeles Lakers crush the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kobe had 26 points, seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and no turnovers as the Lakers won 101-85.
Up by 19 points at the end of the first quarter, this game was never much of a contest. Andrew Bynum had 25 points and nine rebounds, while Pau Gasol had 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Kobe Bryant Plays H.O.R.S.E. with OKC Thunder
NBAtoday.net —
This shot was INSANE. I saw everyone on the @nbatoday twitter blowin’ up about this shot and of course because we are on the East Coast I couldn’t watch this game. Kobe played James Harden on what looked to be a pretty solid defensive stop and Kobe basically chucked up this shot to draw a foul. Look where he shot this from! -The Basher
Kobe Bryant Amazing Shot Over The Glass, Video
NESW Sports, Sports Videos —
Kobe Bryant Amazing Shot Over The Glass, Video. This will be a shot that will be remembered for a long time. Watch it. Soak it in. This might be in a commercial. This will be in Kobe’s all time highlight reel. This was special, and I am not a Kobe fan. ...
Lakers 101, Thunder 85: Just your average YouTube-makin', Black Eyed Peas-singin', Jay-Z Jumbotronin' Sunday night win
Lakers Blog —
THREE GOOD: -This... ... and other stuff from Kobe Bryant: The stat line was robust, for sure (26 points, six boards, seven assists) but tonight fans were treated to the full range of Kobe's skills. He put balls up from behind the backboard (see above), capped the first quarter with a quick, left-handed grab'n'shoot off a loose ball to beat the buzzer, a sick step-back, hesitation drive and finish against Thabo Sefalosha, and so on. In the first half, he crushed Oklahoma City rook James Harden in the post. -Andrew Bynum: 9-11 from the floor, 7-7 from the stripe en route to 25 points, to go along with nine rebounds and a pair of blocks, in only 28:37 of PT. He ...

I tried this weekly recap thing last week, using Twitter as a guide. This week, I’m at it again. Same idea, but I’m going to use video as a guide. These clips are mostly from a few fantastic YouTube uploaders, but there are a couple of NBA.com videos in here too. This won’t be quite as good as actually watching the games as ...

Magic 104, Raptors 96 -- Raptors fans at the Air Canada Centre still boo Vince Carter every time each touches the ball, and it still doesn't stop him from continuing to torment the Raptors. He led with 24 points as Orlando broke a fourth-quarter deadlock by going on a 10-0 run.
Quote of the game: "I think half the people (in Toronto) don't have any idea why they're booing (Vince), it's just become tradition to boo him. That's OK. He thinks it's funny, we think it's funny. It's really irrelevant." -- Magic coach Stan Van Gundy
Player of the game: J.J. Redick -- 19 Pts, 6-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT, 2 Reb, 5 Ast ...
Video: Kobe Bryant Hits Over-the-Backboard Shot
Basketball Fiend —
So I was watching the Lakers-Thunder game in Las Vegas Sunday night at Lagasse’s Stadium — a.k.a. the coolest sports book known to man — when I saw Kobe hit this crazy over-the-backboard trick shot. The place went nuts. And rightfully so. It’s the coolest shot I’ve seen in a long time, cooler even than Kevin Garnett’s 75-foot almost buzzer beater. Kobe is quickly eliminating reasons to hate him. I feel highly uncomfortable about this. * Follow Basketball Fiend on Twitter @BasketballFiend . * Join Basketball Fiend and receive updates by e-mail HERE .

1abtuna BROWNS MAY TRY TO LURE PARCELLS: The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi, who has covered the NFL since helmets were turtle shells, reports -- citing an anonymous source -- that the hapless Browns may try to lure famed team rebuilder Bill Parcells from the Dolphins after the season, and that his contract would allow him to leave and still be paid by Miami. Click here for the unsettling tale. Hard to imagine it happening. Then again the inscrutable Parcells is a nomad who loves a challenge and, at 68, might have one more big one in him. “Welocme To The Circus”
Forum Blue And Gold —
On a night of crazy highlights, Kobe (as is his way) provided the best one.
(Some of you old timers may remember that Larry Bird hit a similar shot during a game, but when you watch the video you see the ref starting to wave it off immediately. That’s because in the 80s that shot was against the rules, his basket did not count. Fortunately for Kobe and all of us, they changed the rules.)
Just Stop It, Kobe Bryant
Outside the Boxscore —
During last night's game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant decided to win at life with this circus shot. The degree of difficulty is so absurdly high that I think we just threw degree of difficulty out the window. (Courtesy of Straight Bangin') ...
Lakers steal Oklahoma City's thunder
Lakers Blog —
Thatsentertainment Come to think of it, the whole freakin' night was really about the repeated stealing of thunder, in one form or another. In their own right, OKC entered Staples Center on quite the little roll. 7-6 (at the time). Above .500 on the road. One hellvua young nucleus being hyped as one of the new teams worth watching. But there's potential and there's reality. The Thunder may be on their way, but the Lakers have clearly arrived. A fact clearly, quickly, and- eventually- flashily established during a 101-85 hometown victory. As BK and I noted during the postgame breakdown , there were fundamentals a-plenty on display to compliment ...

Kobe Bryant is Talented at Basketball
The Slanch Report —
One of the reasons why I dislike Kobe Bryant is that, like with Alex Rodriguez, he comes off as fake and his public persona seems totally forced and manufactured. Having said that, (nod, Larry David) he is absolutely SICK at basketball, take these two plays from Sunday’s Lakers/Thunder game, Kobe may be a giant douche but the man has skills. ...

Kobe Bryant has finally given in to the fact that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all-time. According to our sources, Kobe has shifted his focus to becoming the best HORSE player of all-time.
Case-in-point: Last night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kobe gave the entire NBA an 'H.' [via The Baseline]
When asked about his new career goals after the game, Kobe had this to say: "Even after I won my fourth NBA championship last year, I realized that there was no way I was going to become greater than MJ. I tried to change my number to one better than his, ...
