Video: The 10 best Stanley Cup champions' celebrations
Puck Daddy —
Last night, we saw the culmination of the 2007-08 National Hockey League season. All the games played, all the hard work put in, finally reached its apex. It's like playing "NHL ‘08" and going through every game just to get to the end cut scene where your team wins the Stanley Cup ...
Friday fun: Video time, hockey style
It's About The Money - A New York Yankees Blog —
In honor of Detroit's Stanley Cup win, I thought I'd give myself goosebumps again with this one: This the most emotional win, as a fan, as I have ever been part of. Wasn't there in person, but to be in NYC at the time was just surreal. The 2nd Avenue party outside Dorrian's was awesome. Cars stopped, horns blowing. Apartment windows open, people yelling. Everyone dancing and jumping around, high fiving.... Good times, I tell ya.
THE BACK AND FORTH: WHICH SPORT HAS THE BEST POSTSEASON?
ESPNtheMag.com - MagDaily —
MLB playoffs just started. Cool! There've been some classic moments in Octobers past: the entirety of the 2001 World Series ('cept Game 6), Aaron Boone, Bill Mazeroski, the upstart Marlins of '97 and '03, Joe Carter, etc. But is it the best playoff format out there? Do you know the last time the Rangers played a Game 7?
That was almost 15 years ago, and I still get chills. How can you not get pumped after watching that video.
And that team had a brilliant season. They walked easily through the first two rounds of the playoffs, in fact. But nothing came easy for them after that. The conference finals went to seven games, capped off with one of the most epic games in Stanley Cup ...
15 years ago today: 1940 No More!
Blueshirt Banter —
On June 14th, 1994, the New York Rangers finally exorcised the ghosts of 1940, but it didn't come easy.
Ranger fan Mike Fornabaio wrote a great piece on Game 7, and what Ranger fans went through that night. It's perfect, so I am going to use it here: I really couldn't say this any better than Mike did, so why try?
This day was all about eternities.
There was the eternity that took 54 years to elapse.
The eternity that it took for Saturday to turn into Tuesday.
The eternity of Tuesday morning turning into Tuesday afternoon turning into Tuesday evening (meatloaf, rice on the side) ...
